Today, our chairlady and team met with the UN FAO Country Representative Amb. Carla Mucavi at her office in the UN Complex, Gigiri. Their discussions majored on possible areas of collaboration and partnership. Mrs. Carla Mucavi noted that most of our programmes align with the FAO Kenya Country programme framework. She identified four key areas of FAO/AWAK partnership;
– Implementing the Food Systems’ Pathways
– Digitization of Agriculture for small holder women in Agriculture to enhance financial inclusion and market linkages.
– Women Economic Empowerment – vulnerable households.
– Land restoration through Agroforestry..
She promised to add AWAK as a key implementing partner, in addition to our role in the Steering committee for UNWOMEN/FAO Women Economic Empowerment through Climate Smart Agriculture.
We are grateful for her deep appreciation of our work and we look forward to creating synergies with FAO for greater and deeper social and environmental impact
